8 months old...ALREADY!

This Weeks Classic Moments

Yes, she's asleep...
No, she's not asleep...(just trying to see through the floor...or something.)
Hi mom!
Whenever I feed Holly baby food, I always show her the bowl when she's done and sign "Finished. Food all gone." This time, when I showed her the empty bowl and said, "All gone!" this is the face she made... I just happened to catch it on camera.

We've all been sick with colds this week. Poor Holly's nose just kept runnin' and runnin'.

Sisterly Bonding

Savannah brought some books downstairs yesterday morning for us to read. I sat Holly between us and read the first book to them. Then the phone rang so I got up to get it and when I came back, Savannah was reading a book to Holly. It was so darn cute, I had to grab the camera...of course!
If you click on this picture so you can see it better, you'll notice that Holly is talking. She decided she wanted to be a part of the story telling.

She even helped hold the book!

This must have been an intense part of the book, as Holly leaned in for a closer look and listen.

After storytime, Savannah fed Holly her bottle. She did a great job! Savannah is such a super helper. She really loves her sister Holly, and Holly sure loves her too!

Bless you, my child

I had my friend Lara's three kids here on Tuesday while she was induced to have #4. It was actually less work for me because her 7 and 8 year old kept Savannah occupied for most of the day. She had a blast with them! Her 2 year old took a 4 hour nap and Holly sat on her blanket with her basket of toys and played for AN HOUR! I was in heaven! I did 4 loads of laundry, all my ironing and even made a batch of raspberry freezer jam! WOW! I never knew having 5 kids could be so easy! (Ha ha ha)

Sleeping Beauty and Snow White were here!

Tricia (Sleeping Beauty) and Missy (Snow White) stopped by on their way to the airport. It was a VERY short visit and we wished we could have had more time with them, but I'm so glad they were able to come by and see us!

Isn't this such a cute picture of three gorgeous babes!

I had to get a picture of Tricia with Holly wearing the outfit she gave her. Stylin' sun baby!

Tyler is SO cute! Tricia caught some smiles on camera. =)
We miss you Reynolds Girls! Thanks for stoppin' in!

Just because

On the way home from San Diego Saturday night, we told Savannah that we had a surprise for her at home just for being a good girl. We were going to wait until Monday to give it to her but she just couldn't wait.
It's a....
TWO WHEEL BIKE!

Well, actually it has 4 wheels right now. But that will change soon enough. She took it for a few test runs around the house and then first thing Monday she got all her gear on and went outside for a ride in the culdesac. She did GREAT! Had a little trouble getting the braking down (pushing back on the pedals) but she finally got the hang of it.

It's a Boy!

It's a BOY!
Yes, it's true. A new baby boy has graced our world.

NOT MINE!
Sheesh, it takes NINE months to grow one of these little guys!
(Holly is only 7 months old...HELLOOO!)

It's my good friend Amy Russell's new baby boy, Austin. He just happened to come about 2 weeks early so I got to see him before I left San Diego! SWEET!

This is Amy's first dark haired baby. He was so sweet and just beautiful and perfect in every way. I almost stole him and took him home with me. Almost.

Amy looked so fantastic! She didn't even look like she'd had a baby 4 days ago. Although our visit was way too short, it was so wonderful to see her! Love you Amy!

Here's Amy and Rich Russell with their THREE boys Austin, Isaac and Alex! I need some of the boy magic to head my way so lucky number three can be a HE! =)

Congratulations on your sweet baby boy, Amy and Rich!

C is for Cookie, Cute and Content

Savannah and I were making cookies and Holly wanted to be a part of the fun, so I put her up on the counter in the Bumbo (LOVE that thing!) and she helped stir! *smile*

I thought this look on her face was so cute. Like she was caught with her hand in the cookie jar...only...it was cookie dough. =)
She got her hands in the cookie dough so I wiped them with a wet paper towel and then let her play with it. She had so much fun playing with that paper towel and was content for a good 10 minutes. She talked and talked and talked. You can really tell in the 2nd and 3rd picture below that she was just talkin' up a storm.

Answer to Prayer

Okay, so I felt like Holly wasn't getting enough milk from nursing and I was worried because she wouldn't take a bottle. We were also getting ready to take a road trip to San Diego and I really wanted to be able to give her a bottle in the car so we wouldn't have to stop and wait for me to nurse every time she got hungry. I tried 3 different kinds of bottles and different flow types. Nothing seemed to interest her. So, I started praying for help. I tried the number 4 flow nipple on the Avent bottle and she was practically gagging. Okay, too fast. I had tried the number 1 slow flow nipple but she just played with the bottle and didn't drink the milk. Well, I decided to make her wait until she was really hungry and try again. I was cleaning house the day before we left for SD and she started getting fussy after about 4 hours from her last feeding. So I thought I'd warm up one ounce and see if she took it. I had barely taken it out of the microwave before she grabbed the bottle out of my hands by the nipple and tried to put it in her mouth. I thought, "Fine, you can have it!" I just layed her down and gave her the bottle. She held the bottle herself and DOWNED it! I was like, "SWEEEEEEEEEEEET!" I think I literally did the dance of joy! This was about 3 weeks ago, and since then, she has taken the bottle every time I've given it to her. I'm so grateful that my prayers were answered!! Love you, Holly!

Martineaus in town

The Martineaus came up to Utah for a family reunion and we were able to steal a few hours of their time! Savannah was THRILLED to have her favorite friend Berkley back. (Some of you may recall the comment she made about him, "Mom, he makes my heart rise!") They were two peas in a pod, hand in hand every where they went! It was too cute. We loved seeing them and miss them so much.
These are pictures from the Utah County Fair at Thanksgiving Point:

Apparently, Savannah didn't like hearing the boom of the fireworks. She was right below them so she got a bit scared.

Jeffery and Jen

Jen and "her" Savannah

Me and Sam

He's lookin' up at me like, "Who the heck are you? You're not my mom."

Yeah! Lucy and Ethel reunite!!! Miss you Jen!

(I just noticed how creepy my neck looks in this picture. Eew)

(singing) "Sam and Holly sittin' on my knee, k-i-s-s-"...oh wait, sorry.

This was so funny. The plan was to have the boys come over and play with Savannah while the moms and other kids went to the TGP Gardens. Well, the boys heard that their other cousins were going to the Gardens and they wanted to come to. To keep from disappointing Savannah, Jen said, "Just have her come with us to our reunion activity." So, hese are all the cousins at Jen's family reunion and right in the middle of them is SAVANNAH! Hey wait, she's not a cousin. Jen said, "Oh look, I have all my kids." Savannah just fits so perfectly. =)

Jen said that Berkely and Savannah were walking hand in hand and I think Savannah got hurt or something and before she could get too upset about it, Berkely started running down the sidewalk practically dragging her behind him.

Oh, sweet "seepy bye" Sam
