Holly is really astonishing me with her vocabulary and understanding of concepts. She is talking in 3 word sentences now and is so fun to listen to. I crack up several times a day by her expressions and comments. Tonight, she was sitting on daddy's lap drinking her juice and watching TV. I guess the music in the show he was watching was a bit intense, so Holly said, "Scary. Pause it!" and reached for the remote. I need to start writing her expressions on a notepad so I don't forget them because now I can't remember half the things she said today that were funny. I'll work on that for the next update. =)
Kids say the darndest things (updated August 15, 2008)
I was trying to take a nap on the couch and Doug and the girls were dog piling on me. I swatted them all off and then Savannah held up her fists and started making punching threats and said, "Come on, Mom. Come on...you wanna piece of meat!" =)
We have recently become a family of 5 and I love it! We enjoy living in Utah, but have vowed to never become true Utards. Mom misses the beach and San Diego weather. BADLY! Dad loves the seasons and the kids seem to enjoy the snow the most. We recently upgraded to a bigger house and think we'll be here for the long haul. Only time will tell. For now, enjoy our blog and drop us a message if you wish!
Savannah got a "Savannah" doll house (which she was not expecting) from Nana, Papa, Grandma, Grandpa, Mom, Dad, Krystal and Dan. She was so excited! Her and Holly have played in it a lot. We just need to get more dolls for them to play with now. =)
Savannah invited 11 girls to her party. We had 8 show up, which was great! Doug watched Holly while I ran the party...by myself. I was a little worried that 9 girls would be too much for me to handle on my own but they were all so well behaved. The party went smoothly and they all had so much fun. Especially the birthday girl! When Savannah asked for a "Pink Poodle Party" she insisted that she needed a poodle skirt as well. So, I bought a pattern and put in an elastic wasteband instead of the zipper so it would fit her for a few years. I also made it extra long. Here is my second attempt at a poodle cake. This one turned out better than the first because I frosted the cake pink instead of white and I outlined the poodle in brown. Fun fun fun!
I had a 50's poodle skirt party too when I turned 10 (I think). I love that theme. Savannah, you look super super cute. I can't believe you are 5 years old!!! Happy birthday again. We love you!
